Trip to West coast

               Dear all,
Hope you all doing good and I am back again after a short break..you all may wonder why I have taken vacation at back to school season.. Yes I took vacation break to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary and our son Pranav's birthday.  It was a week long trip to west coast along with my friend Savitha & family. From Dallas - Las Vegas - Grand  Canyon - Hoover Dam - Los Angeles - SFO and back to  Dallas. We really enjoyed those days and for sure it will stay evergreen in our memories and I like to share some of our clicks for your views..

We flew on August 31st evening from Dallas to Las vegas and rented a car there and we were very excited to discover the new places and kids too joined with us..

Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Zion Park, Strastosphere, Mermaid

Next morning we visited Venetian hotel, which is largest and one of the newest on the strip, Which has indoor and outdoor canal with gondolas, the bridge of sighs and replica of St.Mark's Square.
Considering the Heat, we schedule indoor gondola ride and it glide through St Marks Square, under walking bridges and past the lovely shops.  Gondolier wished us with a lovely song ..We had memorable Anniversary.  Pranav and Anish enjoyed the ride as well.

Our next stop was Silverton Casino hotel's aquarium, Its a huge fish tank filled a grip of sea creatures, fish, stingrays, sharks and some time even a mermaid!  Yes they are professional mermaids. These mermaid was adorable with a sweet smile. She did flips, she waved all the kids. She played with kids and gave very big heart shape kiss to all kids.

Next we went to strip to visit some of the casino like treasure island, MGM grand...and finally headed to stratosphere Tower hotel..Which is also known as tallest observation tower in States with a 360 view of the city astounding 869 feet high. City view is at 108th floor and stunning and scary to go near the view glass and have highest four thrill rides above this floor..

After this spectacular view of Las Vegas, we visited Fermount street which is second most famous street in Las vegas after the strip. It is open air landscaped strip of lots of shops,  vendor carts etc..with  use of world's largest LED screen thats spans the length of five football ground and covers huge amount of fermount street. They are free laser light shows with rocking sounds..Don't miss it!!! if you are planing to Vegas.  Rock and roll through out night.

Then we headed back to strip to watch the world famous Bellagio water fountains and came back to hotel to have a dinner.

Our time in Vegas was over and we started our journey towards hoover dam after finishing our breakfast...kids co-operated well and enjoyed the journey.. It was 45 minutes travel from Vegas to Hoover dam with  pleasant ongoing sceneries of canyon..

Due to heat and kids, we were not able to spent some time at Hoover dam, Just walked around the dam, took some pictures and back to car and headed to Grand Canyon mountains...
Grand Canyon drive was a thrilling drive with huge mountains on both the sides and long going trip. At one point of time I was very scared with the dark night with huge mountains beside..Finally we reached our cottage after 5 hours drive at 12'0 clock night.

We stayed in two bedroom apartment cottage with tremendous view of canyon..Kids were very happy and playing around in mud and rocks and collected a cup full of color pebbles..

We had hot pongal sambar @ canyon for breakfast and was ready to leave the cottage.  We picked North Rim because it is less crowded with tourists.

North Rim has several vantage points.  Angel point holds the tourist information center where we can buy postcards and souvenirs. We had nice time over there and took some pictures and started our trip to LA..
