Banana Chips

Banana Chips

     Today's recipe is a famous Kerala chips which are easily available in road side shops in South India. This is so easy recipe and taste best when prepared in home. Sharing this recipe for Blogging Marathon 32 ABC- series..

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Yield: 150 grams

Ingredients:
2  plantain
1 tsp of turmeric powder
11/2 tsp of  rock salt in ½ cup of water
Coconut Oil for deep frying

Method:
1.Slit banana length wise and peel the outer skin.
2.Heat oil in a kadai or skillet in a medium heat. Using veggie slicer, slice banana directly into the oil or cut it in to thin slices.  Stir continuously.

3.Add 2 tbsp of salt water when the chip is 80 % done and continue frying till it become crispy and you should hear solid tap sound  when stir the chips.
4.Remove and allow it to cool. Store it in a air tight container.

    Lovely chips to snack on and they are so simple to make. This is one recipe that always amazes me when I am directly adding water into the hot oil and still it works fine 🙂
