Egg Free Ragi Whole Wheat Chocolate Cake

            Ragi / Finger Millet is one of the staple food in Southern part of India. It is most nutritious food which is rich in calcium and protein and also have good amount of iron and other minerals. We can prepare various dishes in ragi like puttu, dosa, idli, kali etc but in Baking it quite interesting to me when I first saw this recipe here..It is very quick and healthy cake with great taste.  Try this and you will stick to this healthier version for sure..
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 25 ~ 35 minutes
Serves: one 9-inch baking pan
Dry Ingredients:
½ cup ragi flour
1 cup whole wheat or all purpose flour ( I used whole wheat flour)
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon powder
A pinch of salt
Wet Ingredients:
¾ cup sugar
1/ 4 cup milk
¼ cup oil
½ cup  thick yogurt
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 360 degree F and line the pan with parchment paper or grease and dust the pan with flour.

2. Sift all dry ingredients twice and keep it aside.

3. In a mixing bowl, stir in all wet ingredients  and mix until sugar dissolves.

4. Add sifted flour to wet ingredients and gently fold until everything cooperates.

5. Transfer to the prepared pan and bake it for 25 ~ 30 minutes until done or toothpick when inserted in    middle of the cake, comes out clean. If not bake it for another 5 minutes.

6. Cool completely before serving. If needed frost the cake of your choice of frosting..

    Hi, I like cake varieties but I am little fat so now a days I didn't take any bakery items. I like your ragi Cake. Surely I will try it in weekends.Tanks for sharing.
